Brent Lynn McDonald, age 63, died on March 24, 2022 in Payson Utah of cardiac arrest.

Brent was born June 23, 1958 in Heber City Utah. He is the first of 11 children born to Nile G McDonald and Karma Anderson. He graduated from Wasatch High, also in Heber City, and married Vea J Higginson just a few months after graduation.

They lived many places in Utah and spent close to 30 years in the southwest of Missouri. He was almost always working in the building business of some kind when he decided to go to Utah Technical college in 1983, graduating in 1986. He and Vea had their fifth child while he was going to school. He graduated with an electronics degree but learned the trade of fine finish carpentry from an uncle while he was going to school. He stayed in the trade even after graduating and became one of the most skilled builders in both Utah and Missouri.

Between 1977 and 1997 eight children were born: five boys and three girls. Brent liked to take his kids to work with him, and every one of them had the chance to learn a little construction with their dad. A few did so for several years, and at one time he had a construction company with his two oldest sons, Lynn and Toby.

Brent was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He worked with the leadership in his church for many years and grew to love those he served and worked with. He enjoyed photography, woodworking, bike riding, and reading. He was learning how to run a laser engraver right before he died and was helping his daughter implement it with her business.

During his last 4 years he was handicapped by a stroke and heart attack, and it left him unable to do many things. However, this became a special period where he got to spend more time with family, including

taking many trips with his wife. It was also an opportunity to study, especially the scriptures and other religious books.

He had a very loving heart and loved his children and grandchildren with all of it.

He is survived by his wife Vea, Lynn McDonald (Dallas) of Ritchey MO, Toby McDonald (Jill) of Fayetteville AR, Dana McDonald (Corinne) of Renton Washington, Josh McDonald (Tami) of Kirkland Washington, Michelle Thorstrom (Tyler) of Payson UT, Emma Taylor (Barrett) of Granby Missouri, Levi McDonald (Katy) of Springville Utah, Natalie Weidmann (Brett) of Springville UT.

Also survived by 24 grand children, 2 great grand children, his mother Karma McDonald, and all 10 of his siblings. Preceded in death by his father Nile G. McDonald.

Services to be held on Thursday, March 31, in Payson Utah at 5237 W 10400 S.
