Charles Patrick Hall Charles Patrick Hall was born October 30, 1939 to Kenneth LeRoy Hall and Laura Whitney Andrews Hall in Minneapolis Minnesota. He went by Pat until he joined the army and has since been known as Charlie. He was raised in the suburbs of Minneapolis. He graduated from Spring Lake Park High School in 1957. He grew up with 2 younger sisters, Carol Hall Walden (deceased 2014) and Catherine (Cathy) Hall who currently lives in Denver, Colorado. After graduating from high school, he worked at several jobs including the US Post Office. In February of 1962 he joined the US Army where he served until February of 1965. He achieved the rank of SP5. As he entered the army, he met a fellow soldier who was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This young man and his message impressed Charlie and he subsequently met with the missionaries and then joined said Church being baptized on April 14, 1962. During his 3 years in the service, he worked in the medical lab and this gave him experience he would use to work at Utah Valley Hospital to earn his way through BYU when he enrolled there in September of 1965. While at BYU, he came to know Nola Thompson. They began dating in December 1965 and were married on December 9, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. All of his jobs after graduation were in accounting departments. In 1975 they moved to Salem, Utah and have been there since. They raised a family of 10 children, 6 girls and 4 boys. They worked together all their lives to support this large family. They gardened and canned vegetables and fruits and also learned to economize to provide for all. He loved fresh green beans, fresh beets, and carrots, and apple pie bars. Sometimes Charlie worked an extra job to help provide. He worked as a movie theater bouncer and projector operator, then as a used car sales person for a few years. After he retired, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and Christmas movies. After his baptism, he remained a steadfast member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints never wavering in his testimony. The gospel was of supreme importance to him. His favorite book was the Book of Mormon and he also loved The Work and The Glory series having read it 9 times in his lifetime. He served in many positions in the Gospel. He served as Scout leader and had many scouts earn their eagle award under his stewardship. Other positions he served in include Cub scouts and Primary teacher.
