Cody Wayne Gurr

Cody Wayne Gurr, 42, passed away unexpectedly and early on July 26, 2026. He was born on September 3, 1983, to Randy and Pauline Gurr of Genola, Utah.

Cody was raised by a loving family in Genola, Utah, and graduated from Landmark High School in Spanish Fork. He was a hardworking man who spent much of his career in cabinet making and excavation, taking pride in the quality of his work and the relationships he built along the way.

Cody had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in camping, hunting, shed hunting, and spending time in nature. He also enjoyed taxidermy, a hobby that reflected his appreciation for wildlife and the outdoors. Passionate about health and fitness, Cody enjoyed working out at the gym and maintaining an active lifestyle. Those who knew Cody will remember his adventurous spirit, strong work ethic, and the genuine care he had for family and friends.

Cody's greatest pride and joy was his son, Jaxon Gurr of Nephi, Utah. Cody and Lisa, Jaxon's mother, worked together throughout the years to raise and support their son, sharing in the love and commitment of parenthood even after their marriage ended.

Cody is survived by his son, Jaxon Gurr, age 19, of Nephi, Utah; his parents, Randy and Pauline Gurr of Genola, Utah; his brothers, Justin Gurr (Heather), Matt Gurr (Paula), Brett Gurr (Ashley), Jesse Gurr (Erin), and Brady Gurr (Andrea); his sisters, Amy Gurr and Suzanne Long (Lyge); and 25 nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.

Cody's memory will live on through the many lives he touched and through the family he cherished. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family wishes to offer a special thanks to Helen, Justin, and Laura for the help, love, and frienship that they always extended to Cody.

We take comfort in knowing Cody is in a better place, where he is at peace and rest. We look forward to the joyful reunions that await him and the day we will see him again.

A Memorial service will be held in Cody's honor on Friday August 2, 2026 at the Genola 2nd ward building, 50 N. Main St, Genola, UT 84655 at 11:00am, with a Gathering the night before Thursday August 1, 2026 from 6:00-8:00pm.
