Diane Childs Fazzi Chipman

August 21, 1936 — May 1, 2026

Diane Childs Fazzi Chipman, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born August 21, 1936 in Provo, Utah.

She was the fourth child of Bliss Gunmundson Childs of Springville and Eleanor Prows Childs of Provo, Utah.

Her guidance from her parents really shaped her lifelong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

She grew up  on "The Farm" in Springville and was educated in local schools, graduating from Springville High School.

Diane enjoyed a long career at Signetics Corporation who  manufactured integrated circuits including for the Apollo Space program. Beyond her technical work, she discovered a unique talent in the glass department where she crafted intricate art out of quartz crystal which she loved to share with family and friends.

She married Joseph M Fazzi in 1956 and had four children. They later divorced. 

She married Max C Chipman until his death, March 24, 2013.

Diane is survived by her children; Lisa (Malcom) Weight of Lake Shore, Utah, Andrea (Mark) Barbuti of Las Vegas, Nevada, Joel (Christa) Fazzi of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jill Fazzi of Springville, Utah. Also ten Grandchildren, Candice, Luke, Landon, Camrie, Merak, Bly, Arria, Camara, Gage, and Midori, also ten great-grandchildren; her brother Douglas Childs of Eskdale, Utah, sister Jane Schofield of Provo, Utah, and sister-in-law Colleen Childs of Eskdale, Utah, and Max's children; Gina, De Nise, David and Becky.

Diane is proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Gordon Childs, Gerry Childs, Norman Childs,  sister-in-law Karma Childs and brother-in-law Allen Schofield.

A private celebration of Diane's life will be held in Eskdale, Utah on June 14, 2026.

She was always willing and ready to "Go, See and Do" and her family finds comfort knowing she is doing just that now.
