Glen Snyder

Glen Howard Snyder, age 86, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2016. Glen was born in Vernal, Utah on October 27, 1929 to Leland Henry Snyder and LeNora Jane Rhoades. Glen had a great talent as an automobile mechanic and owned Diamond Automotive. He was constantly using his skill with cars to help others. Glen retired from the U.S. Forest Service where he built several campgrounds, and after retirement he worked as an inspector at engineering firms. Glen also held many callings in the LDS church and served as a bishop and a stake president. Of all of Glen's hobbies, his family was his greatest love.



Glen is preceded in death by his eternal companion Avilda Fairbanks Snyder, grandson Clyde Douglas Jacobsen, and siblings Lloyd, Dorothy, and Don Snyder. He is survived by his loving wife Carolee Zirker Snyder; sister Sadie Snyder Knight; children Velda Irene Hess (Donald), Glen Michael Snyder (Sylvia), Peggy Jane "PJ" Davis (Paul), Patricia Gaye Jacobson (Dean), Marla Vee Hughes (David), Wendy Ellen Ledbetter, Nancy Perschon (Rodney), David Joseph Snyder (Georgia), Richard Thomas Snyder (Kristie); 41 grandchildren, 98 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.



Funeral services will be held on Monday February 1st 2016 at 10 AM at the East Meadows LDS chapel located at 1552 E. 750 S. Spanish Fork, Utah. There will be a viewing prior to the funeral from 9-10 AM. There will be an additional viewing Sunday January 31st from 6-8 PM at Nelson Family Mortuary, 4780 N. University Avenue, Provo, Utah.
