Heber Eugene (Gene) Brereton

Heber Eugene Brereton of Spring Lake passed away on January 16, 2024.

Gene was born on August 24, 1940 in Payson, Utah to Howard Eugene (Johnny) and Helen Audene Reed Brereton.

He grew up in Lakeview and graduated from Orem High School. He served in the Army. He worked many years at Provo City Power and retired from UTA.

He married Julia Jane Payne together they had 7 children Jane (Lee) Netcher, Jeannie Drake, Jim (Lisa) Brereton, Jerry (Joylynn) Brereton, Jessica Cook, Jackie (Tobias) Peterson and Jeni (Shane) Chase. They later divorced.

He married Evelyn Evans Moulton adding her 9 kids to the family. Mark(Julie) Moulton, Lisa (Raymond) Vansant, Angela Moulton, Jesse (Melanie) Moulton, Dana Martinez, Claudia (Don) Harvey,

Christina Jurado, Spencer Moulton and Rachel (Ryan) Shepherd.

Gene loved his family. He was always willing to help family, friends and neighbors. He loved the outdoors and anything that went with it including fishing, hunting and driving his side by side. He was also a master gardener and a mister fix it. His favorite thing to to was to tease everyone.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn, children, 72 grandchildren, and 58 great grandchildren. And his brother Fred (Susan) Brereton.
