Mister Jack Lange, born November 5, 1940, in Payson, Utah, passed away August 14, 2026 peacefully, surrounded by loved ones after a battle with a chronic illness.
He spent a large portion of his life dedicated to horses and to the companionships he built along the way. A life filled with hard work, family, and the simple joys he found in the people and animals he loved, shaped Jack into the man so many came to know and cherish.
Determined to live a fulfilled life, Jack gave himself wholeheartedly to the things and people that mattered most to him. He was the kind of man who would give you his last penny, so long as it meant you never go without.
Years spent surrounded by horses became some of his most cherished memories, and the bonds he formed with them reflected the patience, loyalty, and love he carried throughout his life. Jack loved talking about his horses and, when given the chance, he'd talk about them all day.
Surrounded by family, Jack was happiest when the people he loved were close by. Of all the joys life gave him, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in his heart. He loved sitting on his front porch, watching the kids play, and reminiscing when his own kids were young. All the kids eventually became his little partners in crime, sneaking sweets and cakes for the two of them to enjoy.
Never one to shy away from hard times, Jack always made sure to take care of those who needed help. In his own way, he was giving, loving, and fiercely dedicated to those he held close. So much of Jack's heart was found in the people around him, and even with the people he was estranged with- he always waited for their phone call.
Many nights he would spend up the canyon, or on trails, riding horseback or going fishing. You never really knew what to expect from him when he told stories of his youth; they were either fond memories spent with his best friend and pseudo brother, Dennis, or memories from his childhood and all the joys it entailed.
Family was never something Jack took for granted; it was a part of who he was and a source of purpose throughout his life. Above all, Jack will be remembered for the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the memories he left behind. Voids like the one he leaves behind cannot be filled, and he will be missed more dearly than words can express.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Alpheus Lange. His mother, Vera Aliene Lewellen. His brother, Russel (Karen) Lange and his Daughter in Law, Amber Lee Lange.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Lee Lange, their children Alyson (Mathew) McKell, John Lange and Neecholl (Richard) Vas. His siblings, Terry (Kathy) Lange, Debbie (Curtis) Cleverly and Kit (Tiffany) Lange. He is survived by his 12 grandchildren, their spouses, and his 19 great grandchildren.
The family have chosen to cremate him, so there will not be a funeral. A celebration of life will occur on September 12th from 2-4 p.m at the Lions Pavilion at Canyon View Park in Spanish Fork.
