It is with deep reverence and loving kindness that we announce the passing of Brad Gilmore who departed from this life with loved ones by his side in the early hours of September 06, 2025 at the age of 69.
Born James Bradley Gilmore on December 11, 1955 to Robert and Roberta Gilmore and becoming little brother to Bill. Brad lived a life marked by compassion, generosity, and mindfulness. He shared kindness with family, friends, and community leaving behind a legacy of love and virtue. As the Buddha taught, "All conditioned things are impermanent." With that understanding we remember that though Brad's physical form has passed, the wholesome actions and merits of his life continue to ripple outward.
Brad is survived by the love of his life and wife of 41 years, Dianna. His daughter Mandi, and his young son Nathaniel. His grandchildren listed oldest to young, Kialah, Kambria, Uriah, Kinzlee, Kimberlyn, Everlee, Bradley, and Lakota. Brother's Bill Gilmore (Carol) and Dieter Wing his brother from another mother, and many nieces and nephews he was more then just an uncle too. Who will honor- his memory through continued practice of compassion and mindful living.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Bob and Robbie Gilmore, his in-laws Dennis and Sharron Maestas, and his oldest Son J.D. Gilmore to whom which he was very close to. He never wanted for anyone to be sad or to even shed a single tear in his passing. Instead of a funeral he asked that a party be thrown in his name celebrating the life he lived with all the people he loved and cared about. That being said you are all invited to join in the potluck celebration of life for Brad Gilmore enjoy sharing memories listening to his favorite music and eating his favorite foods in the big pavilion Saturday September 20, 2025 from 4:30 - 9 pm at Exchange Park, 900 North 700 West in Provo. If you would like to bring a dish please call or text Mandi Gilmore 385-344-9078 so she has a better understanding of what can be expected and what she will still need to do before while she still has time.
In Buddhist tradition people who plan to attend bring offerings such as incense candles flowers or fruit. You are not expected to bring an offering but if you choose to white flowers are preferred and nag Champa or Super hit were his favorite incense. Thank you everyone for your support and prayers during this very challenging time. The family appreciates all of you more then you know.
A huge thank you to the wonderful staff at Active Hospice for being there not just for Brad but for the family as well, though it was hard you did make it a little bit easier. Couldn't have done this without Marlo's kind loving supportive nature. I do not know how you guys do it everyday, you guys are truly angels in disguise.
