James Davison

February 19, 1942 — October 23, 2013

James Lawrence Davison, 71, of Springville, Utah passed away peacefully at home on October 23, 2013 due to complications from a stroke he suffered from on Mother's Day of this year.

Jim was born February 19, 1942 in Lime, Oregon to Lawrence and Agnes Davison. Jim grew up and attended school in Nampa, Idaho where he graduated with the class of 1960. Upon graduation he worked for Western Union as an Office Manager.

He married his sweetheart, Judith Ann Westenskow in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on March 18, 1963. After Dean was born, Jim felt a need to further his education. He graduated from BYU with a degree in Vocational Education. He moved his small family to Council Idaho where he taught Industrial Arts for 3 years. Denette was born while living there. He continued his studies, taking classes from the University of Oregon. He received his Master's Degree in Guidance Counseling. He was a guidance counselor at the high school in Baker Oregon. He built a new home for his growing family as this is where Heather was born. Jim had many other positions through the years, he was a School Assistant Superintendent for 6 years and he ended his career in Oregon being an elementary school principal for 3 years. In 1998 Jim retired in Oregon and he and Judy moved to Utah to be closer to family. They have been here 15 years & feel like they were here for a reason. They have needed special doctors, and friends to help them along the way.

June 1961 Jim was converted and baptized to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church where he continued to be a faithful member up until his death. He served in many areas of the church which included Bishopric, Stake Clerk, and Temple Ordinance Worker in Portland Oregon and Provo Utah LDS Temples.

Jim enjoyed taking his grand kids out on the 4 wheeler, to the park or fishing. He would take them to the trout farm so that they would not get discouraged since they had many bites and catches. He always thought of others before himself and served with no doubt in his heart or mind.

James is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judith, his 3 children, Dean Davison (Dawn), Denette Dabling (Jeffrey), Heather Harrington (Kelly), 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons, his Stepbrother Frank Dowers and half brother Larry Dowers. He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence Davison, Lloyd & Agnes Dowers, his sister Geraldine Davison Cropp, his half brother Gary Dowers.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your wonderful loved one. Although I wasn't around Jim and Judy too much I still have very fond memories of time spent with them. Jim will be greatly missed. I pray your family finds peace and comfort in your memories, and the hope of a great family reunion later on.

Dear Judy and family,

You are in our thoughts and prayers. Linda Leavitt called me the other night to let me know. Every time I go past your place I think about you and your family. You were here but a short time but left foot prints on my heart.

Best wishes and hope that your memories will sustain you.

Love.

Jeannie
