Keith Prior

October 15, 1937 — September 17, 2015

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Keith Andrew Prior, died September 17, 2015 in Payson, Utah after a valiant five month battle with kidney disease and related illnesses. Keith was born October 15, 1937 to Dean and LaRue Boyack Prior in American Fork, Utah. He was welcomed by his parents and sister, LaDeane. Keith grew up in Lehi, Utah and graduated from Lehi High School. He served a mission in the Western States for the LDS Church. Upon his return home, he worked for Hercules and attended trade school and BYU. Keith served many years in the Utah National Guard.

Keith and Linda Kaye Stein met after his mission and were married July 17, 1964 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Keith worked for Ireco Chemicals for many years. Their son, Joseph was born in American Fork. They were transferred to Quebec, Canada where their daughter, Kelly Anne, was born. They lived in Papua, New Guinea before moving to Perth, Australia where their son Christopher was born. Then they moved to Tucson, Arizona for 6 years. Their son Benjamin was born and passed away there. Keith and Linda built a home in Palmyra, Utah where they lived and raised their family. Before retiring, Keith also worked for UTA and Tradestar.

Keith was a loving and amazing husband and father. He set an excellent example for our family and never let us down. We loved him and looked up to him. During the last five years, Keith enjoyed the time he spent in St. George and loved his new friends and neighbors, but Palmyra was always home.

Keith had a strong and solid testimony of the Gospel and served in many callings throughout his life. He especially enjoyed serving as a Branch President at the MTC and as a counselor in the Palmyra Stake Presidency. He loved meeting new people and socializing with friends.

Keith has been blessed with 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild who are going to miss his teasing and made up birthday songs. He loved each one and was so proud of their many accomplishments.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, son Benjamin, sister LaDeane and brother-in-law Don Peterson, his in-laws Joe and June Stein and sister-in-law MaryJo Stein. Keith is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his children, Joe & Kyla Orton Prior, Mike & Kelly McMullin and Chris Prior; his grandchildren, Tyrel, Emily and baby Bryden Prior, Kristen, Zackery, Hannah, Cayd, Averi and Elder Shad Prior (Ghana Kumasi), Andrew, Benjamin, Matthew and Elder Patrick McMullin (Edmonton Canada-Spanish), Whitney, Britney and Lindsey Prior. Keith is also survived by his brothers-in-law, James Stein & Thomas Stein and his nieces, nephews and cousins.
