Marsha Johnson Steggell

Marsha Johnson Steggell, 73, of Spanish Fork, Utah passed from mortality on Friday, July 17, 2026, surrounded by many of her children and loved ones at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah.

Marsha was born on March 06,1953 to Joseph Leo Johnson and Lydia Allred. Growing up in Provo and attending Provo High School where she graduated in 1971. In October 1970, she married Douglas Dickerson Ballinger and they were blessed with three children; Tonya Lynn, Justin Douglas and Amber and later divorced. Marsha then married Leonard Robert Steggell on April 8, 1979, and they were blessed with four children; Leonard Robert Steggell II, Cole Wilford Steggell, Wesley Lance Steggell and Tyler Victor Steggell.

Marsha's life was one of stellar brilliance. She attracted and nurtured many close friends. During her many years (35) of driving a school bus and instructing new drivers for Nebo School District, she influenced the lives of many of the youth in the school district. She worked for the Spanish Fork Senior Citizens Center for a number of years, delivering "Meals on Wheels" for the elderly, driving their "Adventure Bus" on field trips, and fostering close friendships with those at the Center. Upon retiring, she began to expand her talents by taking up painting ceramics. She won several awards at the Utah County Fair.

She was not without challenges in her life, from a broken femur to a heart condition, cancer and tumors, the last of which resulted in her death.

Marsha was a longtime devotee of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her infectious spirit was a hallmark in any calling she served in. Following the passing of her husband, Leonard, Marsha was able to be sealed in the temple to him for time and all eternity. Many are the times she looked forward, with anticipation, to being reunited with him.

Marsha is proceeded in death by her daughter Tonya, her parents Joseph and Lydia Johnson, and her sister Gale Proctor. She is survived by her children: Justin (Gale) Ballinger, Amber Ballinger, Lenny (Tiffany) Steggell, Cole (Kaylie) Steggell, Wesley (Michelle) Steggell, Tyler Victor Steggell. She is blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 31, after which she will be laid to rest alongside her loving husband at the Spanish Fork Municipal Cemetery, 420 S. 400 E., Spanish Fork, Utah.
