Maurine Sharon Johnson returned to her Heavenly Father on August 28, 2023 at the age of 79. She was born May 9, 1944 in Sacramento, California to Rex and Norma Stewart Jensen. She was the second daughter and younger sister of Dawn.
She spent the majority of her life living in the Sacramento area. She graduated from La Sierra High School. It was there that she met the love of her life, Lowell Johnson. They were married civilly February 17, 1962 and sealed in the Manti Utah Temple on February 23, 1962.
Lowell and Sharon raised their nine children in Carmichael and Fair Oaks, California. Sharon was the happiest in her role as a wife and mother and wanted what was best for both Lowell and each of her children. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in various callings including Primary President, visiting teacher and ministering sister. She enjoyed studying the gospel and having gospel discussions with her friends and family members. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and lived as a true disciple of Jesus Christ.
Sharon occasionally worked outside of the home to help to support her children’s missions. Sharon enjoyed cake decorating and made many beautiful wedding and birthday cakes throughout the years, including several of her children’s wedding cakes. She was also a very talented seamstress and made her own school dance dresses and wedding dress!
Sharon is survived by her nine children and their spouses, Wendy, Patty, Greg (Denise), Jeff (Shannon), Shannon (Tom), Randy (Diana), Ashley (Travis), Katie, Chris (Ginny), her 28 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Dawn Moore and half siblings Rex Jensen and Betsy Townsend.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Johnson and parents Rex Jensen and Norma Stewart Jensen.
