Nan Pendray

April 14, 1941 — January 18, 2018

Nan Black Pendray 76 lost her three year battle to cancer on Jan 18, 2018. She gracefully passed in her Salem, Utah home surrounded by loved ones.

Born April 14, 1941 to Fonzo and Belva Black, she married Robert Douglas Pendray on September 16, 1962. Nan earned a bachelor degree in education at Brigham Young University and congruent with her ambitious nature graduated with a four year degree in two years as a magna cum laude. She worked as a teacher for three years then later in life became a successful real estate agent working alongside Bob in their business, Pendray Construction.

Granny Nanny's most cherished role was that of a mother, grandmother, and aunt. Her family was her entire life and she devoted everything to them. Every vacation she planned, every article of clothing she mended, every meal she prepared, was centered around her love for her family. Nan and Bob raised five children, Bob Pendray Jr., Cathy Hancock (Kelly Hancock), Judy Lewis (Robert Lewis), Rebecca Francis, and Jon Pendray (Farrah Pendray). They along with their spouses created 18 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Nan was preceded in death by her parents Fonzo and Belva black, her granddaughter Celene Hancock, and her three nephews Mickey Wagner, Wade Ivers, and David Jackson.

Nan was an active member of the LDS faith and she and her beloved husband served an LDS mission in the California San Diego mission from August 2007 to August 2008.

A graveside service will be held on January 22, 2018 at 12:00 pm at the Salem City Cemetery 965 South 140 East Salem, Utah 84653.
