Rebecca “Lynne” Wasden was born November 12, 1939 in Los Angeles, California.
As a teen she converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a decision that altered the course of her life. She attended Brigham Young University, where she immediately fell in love with Lyle Lloyd Wasden and started a family on December 18, 1959, when they were sealed in the Manti, Utah Temple. They moved to Chicago, Illinois, then the Central Coast of California (Lompoc and Solvang), prior to settling in Springville, Utah.
Over the years, her family grew to include six children (Christopher, Cary, Jeffery, Caroline, Mitchell, and Jonathan). Lynne also fostered several children in need over the years, and was a surrogate mother for hundreds of LDS missionaries in the two missions she served for the Church: Texas (1986-1989); and France (2009-2010).
She passed away unexpectedly on December 9, 2025. She is remembered for her unerring and selfless devotion to her spouse, children, faith, and her constant gratitude for the goodness she found in life. Her legacy lives on in her surviving spouse, six children and 25 grandchildren and great 27 grandchildren.
