The Dungeon Master has finished battling the hordes and has retired his sword. The battle is over.
We now say goodbye to our son, our brother, our uncle, and our friend, Richard Dean Bartholomew.
Richard passed away at home on the afternoon of April 18th, 2022 after a long and arduous battle with the demons he faced for years.
Richard was someone who was beautiful inside and out. He was genuine with a kind soul and could make you believe in yourself even when no one else did.
His nieces and nephews were the loves of his life whom he adored without measure and he was a big goofy kid any time they were around.
He had a creative and adventurous soul and wanted to take anyone and everyone willing with him on his journeys. Whether through perilous mountains on a quest to vanquish a great evil or to the farthest reaches of space and time to destroy the galaxy's greatest foe, Richard always knew how to make the adventure fit the adventurer.
Richard chose to spread joy to others through laughter and was particularly gifted at impersonations. Making others smile was his delight.
Richard is survived by his parents, Jim and Denise Bartholomew; his siblings Michelle (Brian) Sheets, Shari Anne (Anthony) Hunter, Jay Dee (Brittany) Bartholomew, and Blake Bartholomew; the loves of his life, his nieces and nephews, Alida, Daphne, Malcom, Valetta, Clark Kent, and Bruce Wayne; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oral and June Bartholomew and Dean and Marilyn Fullmer.
Farewell our dear brother. Rest in peace and know that you left a joy and a love that will live in our hearts for the rest of our lives. You will never be far from us and we will never be far from you, here always for each other though a veil may separate us. Our pain will heal but a scar will remain evermore without you. We love you through the eternities and will forever be your loving family.
