Richard Scheve

January 21, 1968 — April 9, 2016

Richard "Rick" James Scheve, 48, of Spanish Fork, Utah passed away suddenly of unknown causes on April 9, 2016.

Born January 21, 1968 in Hamilton, Ohio to Glenna Ruth Scheve and John "Jack" E. Scheve. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1986.

After high school he graduated from nursing school and obtained his LPN license. His 27 year career in nursing was spent in long term care and rehabilitation. He knew exactly what to do for each patient, family member and co-worker to make them feel better, heal faster or lighten their load. He always thanked his co-workers for a job well done, never taking any of the credit. He was truly an example to all.

He was a "master" fisherman, building his own fly rods and tying his own flies. He was beautifully graceful on the water and made fly fishing a spectator sport. He was willing to teach anyone his love of fishing especially his wife, daughters and grandkids as well as other family members. He was always calm and at peace in nature.

His greatest accomplishment, however, was being a father. Nothing made him happier than being with his children, step children and their friends. He felt that it was his duty to provide them with adventures and new experiences whether it was making clay beads, shooting BB guns, ice skating, hiking or swimming.

He recently became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His "calling" was being a friend to all.

He was an avid Geo Cacher and would often ask, " Have you gotten the sales pitch? " when telling others of his hobby. He signed all his logs, " Right on Crouton". He considered fellow Geo cachers his friends and looked forward to meeting up with them at events or caches.

His greatest love was his wife Bonnie. He told her every day, " I love you, baby, more than you'll ever know ". Not only did he tell her of his love but showed her by putting her needs above his own. He was the love of her life. They were inseparable, packing in more fun and laughter in 5 short years than most would in 25.

Survived by his wife Bonnie Trent Scheve, daughters Brooke and Chloe Scheve of West Valley, step son Jason (Katherine) Trent, step daughters Kelsie (Chase) Dalley of Guam, Madison, Savanna, Cassidy and Austynn Trent of Spanish Fork, step grandchildren Micah, Sydnie and Brandon Dalley of Guam. His best friend Guy Olsen who he loved like a brother. His parents, Glenna Scheve and Jack Scheve. His siblings Ronald William Scheve, Patricia Lynn Ott, Karen Ann Bell, Teresa Jean Scheve. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his infant son Rhett Scheve.

Many thanks to those who assisted with Rick's care including first responders Char Blacker and Russ Jackson, Spanish Fork ambulance crew and Mountain View emergency.
