He married Utonna Jensen; they were later divorced. He is survived by four children, Daniel Johnson (Cindy), Laura Lee Weaver (Brett), Becky Cragun (Todd), and Steven Johnson.

He later married Lila Hammon, and is survived by her and six step children, Robin Provstgaard (Robert), Kelly Hammon, Tracy Pulsipher (Dennis), Julie Provstgaard (Brad), Russell Hammon (Jill), and Chris Hammon. He is also survived by two brothers Arthur (Frankie), Richard (Geniel), and a sister in law, Carol Johnson.

He graduated from Provo High School, and afterwards served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Additionally, he worked for the Unysis Corporation, and as a custodian for the LDS church.

Robert was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. He and Lila served in the Bishop's Storehouse, and Cannery in Spanish Fork, and Springville; they were ordinance workers in the Provo Temple, and had the pleasure of serving a mission in Wyoming at Sixth Crossing.

Some of Bob's favorite pastimes were camping, fishing, dancing, strumming on the guitar, and singing old western tunes. He was very artistically inclined. He was gifted with making furniture from wood, and sculpting animals from clay.

He will be especially missed by 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Special thanks to Horizon Home Health, Page Steel-RN, Clark Thatcher-Physical Therapist, Emily Harris-Speech Therapist and Hospice. A graveside service will be held May 24, 2018, at 11:00am, at the Provo City Cemetery, with full military honors.
