Ronald Creer

September 21, 1936 — December 7, 2017

Ronald DeLoy "Oscar" Creer, passed away December 7, 2017 in Nephi, Utah, at the age of 81, surrounded by family.



He was born September 21, 1936 in Spanish Fork, UT to Ronald Soren "Bonnie" and Beth Rose Creer. He grew up in Leland, Utah, and graduated from Spanish Fork High School, Class of 1954. He was on the track team, and played football in high school, as well as Snow College, and BYU, which he loved. He also served in the Utah National Guard. He married his best friend and the love of his life, Joan Krebs, November 20, 1961, and together they raised 3 daughters, He loved his girls, and they loved him.



He worked for Utah Wildlife Resources, at fish hatcheries around the state, and was superintendent of the Scott Avenue, Kamas, and Midway Fish Hatcheries, and was the Fisheries Manager over all of the fish hatcheries in the state when he retired after 36 years of service in 1993. He was always so proud of "his hatchery guys". He was the President of the National Fisheries Society, served on the Utah Wildlife Board, Ducks Unlimited, Kamas Valley Lion's Club, Heber and Richfield Jaycees, and the Salt Lake County Fish and Game. He enjoyed gardening and most of all spending time with his family.



He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan, his daughters, Cheryl (Mark) Nisonger of Price, Stephanie (Nick) Black of Nephi, Ronalee Mortimore of Nephi, grandchildren, Charadee (Stephen 'Willie') Williams, Andrew Nisonger, Katie (Lee) Pulsifer, Shawnee (Skyler) Memmott, Austin (Mariah) Black, Bailey Black, Hayley (Jacob) Mortimore, and Colt Mortimore, and 4 great grandchildren. Also survived by his siblings, Joyce (Mac) Brown, Doug (Kathy) Creer, Richard (Judy) Creer, and Curt Creer. Preceded in death by his parents, daughters Laurel Ann and Mechelle, and one grandson, Justin Black.



Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Spanish Trails Ward, 452 West 550 South, Spanish Fork, UT. There will be a visitation from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
