Steven "Harry" Clarence Wyler
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved and caring husband and father, Steven Clarence Wyler.
Steven Clarence Wyler, age 76, of Payson, Utah returned to his Heavenly Father on July 1st, 2023 after a battle with several health challenges. He was surrounded by his loving wife, children and grandchildren.
Steve was born October 16, 1946, to Case and Beth Wyler in Payson, Utah. He was the second born of four children - two sisters and one brother.
Steve grew up in Payson, Utah attending Elementary & Junior High School there. He graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1965.
Steve learned the value of hard work at a very young age. He started sheep herding at 8 years old for his uncle, where he spent all summer. He continued to work many jobs until he was drafted into the military in 1968, at the age of 21. Upon returning from his Honorable Service, he began his career with Pacific States Steel and retired after 39 years.
He served our county in Vietnam, where he worked on helicopters. His service was honored by receiving a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and A Good Conduct Medal. He received an Honorable discharge May 10, 1972.
In his early years, he loved chariot racing and horses. He also was an avid bowler and went to many tournaments with his bowling league. He would quietly smile when he would score a 300 - bragging was not his style. He also loved golfing and spending time with his many friends.
Steve loved nature and was happiest in the outdoors or in the mountains. He enjoyed pheasant hunting and teaching his grandchildren how to fish. Steve and Debbie loved their Can-Am and took many long rides with friends and family. He even decorated it with Christmas lights for the Spanish Fork Winter Light Parade he dressed up like Santa Claus to the delight of his grandchildren.
Steve was a family man. He deeply loved his wife, children, grandchildren and one great grandson. His wife Debbie was his top priority, and her happiness was most important to him. He was a supportive father and grandfather, never missing a baseball, softball, or football game. He even made it to all Cheer Competitions and Karate Tournaments.
Steve is survived by his loving wife Debbie Fillmore Wyler, his two sisters Kaye Whisman and Marsha Ishmael, his two beautiful daughters RaShele (Jeremy) Parker and Tam (Chris) Hurst, Kimberly Hoffman (Matthew Fausett), Justin Hoffman (Angela Roberts), 15 grandchildren - Shelby, Shad, Karlee, Brady, Brevin, Elijah, Katarina, Wesley, Paytten, Haddon, Gavin, Vivian, Haygen, Brooklyn, Odin and one great grandson, Santiago.
He is preceded in death by his father Case Wyler, his mother Beth Wyler, brother Boyd "Fish" Wyler, nephew Vincent Wyler, and two brother in-laws Dick Whisman and "Ish" Ishmael.
The family would like to give a heartfelt "Thank You" to Dr. Brian Clements and the Aspen Ridge Healthcare & Hospice Team. A special thanks to his Nurse, Andrea Huff and Aide, Charity Griffen. They treated Steve with so much tenderness, and cared for our family with the same compassion they would their own. They would sometimes even get an "I love you" when they left.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held Tuesday, July 11th, 2023 @ 1:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints building, 1006 East 180 South Spanish Fork, Utah.
