Wiley Callister

March 12, 1936 — March 2, 2014

Mapleton, Utah - Wiley S. Callister, age 77, passed away quietly on Sunday, March 2, 2014 while holding the hand of his eternal wife and companion, Joyce. This will only be a brief pause in their sixty-year love story. Wiley dedicated his entire life to the gospel of Jesus Christ serving as a missionary, seminary teacher, temple worker, High Councilman, Bishop, Stake President and many other callings. He was a devoted disciple of Christ and builder of the Kingdom of God. Wiley volunteered for twenty-five years in the Boy Scouts of America where he earned the prestigious Silver Beaver Award. Wiley loved to be outside working in his beautiful yard where his rose bushes were the envy of the neighborhood. Wiley is survived by his wife, Joyce Anderson Callister, 5 children, 24 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. The Callister family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to friends, neighbors, members of the Mapleton 22nd Ward, and Rocky Mountain Hospice for their love and caring devotion to our family.
