Wilfred Trujillo

Wilfred Trujillo died peacefully in his sleep on August 29, 2025, in Spanish Fork, Utah, at the age of 78. He was born on September 21, 1946, to Jake Trujillo and Opal Werito in Chaco Canyon, New Mexico.

Wilfred married Arlene Butler on May 23, 1969, and welcomed a son, Kory Billie, and later divorced. He met the love of his life, Sandra Lynn Massaro, and married on July 30, 1973. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on November 22, 1980. Wilfred and Sandra welcomed five children, and he became a father to Rachael from Sandra’s first marriage.

After graduating from high school in Brigham, UT, Wilfred attended a trade school and received a degree in welding. He began working at Geneva Steel in Orem, UT, from 1974 to 2002. He also worked for Utah Track & Welding from 1977 and retired in 2012 as a welder. Wilfred was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Wilfred enjoyed playing softball, basketball, racketball, going fishing, and hunting. Later, he took up golfing with his sons. More than anything, he loved watching his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and anyone who would invite him to watch them in any activity.

Wilfred is survived by his wife, Sandra, and children Kory, Rachael (Karl), Nathan, Amber (Jeff), Troy (Lorissa), eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. His brother, Alfred Trujillo (Esther), along with his three sisters, Maxine Trujillo, Rosemarie (Kirby) Arrive, and Tina Marie (Steve) Foster.

Wilfred was predeceased by his sons, Micah and Tony Trujillo. Parents: Jake and Opal Trujillo, Siblings: Katie Trujillo, Mary Trujillo, Grace Trujillo, Larry Trujillo, Marie Albert, and Lavonne Trujillo.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 4th, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the LDS Church, 1661 S. 1400 E., Spanish Fork, Utah. A viewing for the family will be held prior to his graveside service from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.at Legacy Funeral Home, 3595 N. Main St, Spanish Fork, Utah. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 5th, at Orem City Cemetery, located at 1520 N. 800 E., Orem, Utah.

A luncheon will be provided to the family after the graveside services at the LDS Church, located at 1661 S. 1400 E., Spanish Fork, Utah.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful care provided to Wilfred by the staff of Orem Rehabilitation Center and Symbi Hospice.
